Chinese Paradise is a series of textbooks aimed at primary school students from other countries. Each level comprises a textbook, a workbook, a set of word cards, a teacher's book, a companion book for the reader, a set of tests and four CDs -ROM multimedia.
The second edition in English includes 6 units with 12 lessons at each level. Each lesson teaches 1 to 2 Chinese characters, about 10 new words, and a basic sentence pattern. More specifically, the contents comprise interactive sentence patterns, new words, learning Chinese characters, explanation of Chinese culture with illustrations, crafts, songs, stories, other games and activities. Upon completion of this book, students will be able to say several simple sentences, sing nursery rhymes in the language, and gain knowledge of the culture.

Easy steps to Chinese takes an approach in the learning of Mandarin as a foreign language. It is designed for both elementary and middle school students. These textbooks make up three stages: stage 1 (books 1 and 2), stage 2 (book 3, 4, 5 and 6), stage 3 (books 7 and 8). The series include: a CD textbook, workbook, CD teacher's book, flashcards, word cards with topics for each stage. After completing all the books, the students will have acquired a vocabulary of approximately 1,600 Chinese characters and will have developed confidence in using Mandarin to communicate orally and written. The book is focused on helping students establish a solid base of vocabulary, knowledge of Mandarin and communication skills through the natural and gradual integration of the language, as well as the culture.

HSK Standard Course

Authorized by Hanban, the HSK standard course is developed under the joint efforts of the Beijing Language and Culture University Press and Chinese Testing International (CTI). With the HSK exams as the primary source, the standard HSK course is characterized by a humorous style, familiar themes, and a scientific course design. Combining the HSK test in all aspects, from content, form to levels, in a series of textbooks of a new type that incorporate the idea of “combining tests with teaching, and promoting learning”. It is suitable for Confucius Institutes in different countries, as well as other Mandarin teaching institutions and self-taught students.
The whole series is divided into 6 levels, each level matches its corresponding HSK test. From levels 1 to 3, there is a volume or book for each level, in the case of levels 4 to 6, it corresponds to 2 books for each level, for example, 4a and 4b. Apart from the textbook, a workbook and a teacher's book are included for each volume, there are 27 books in total. All books are illustrated and in color.
Youth Chinese Test
YCT 标准教程
YCT - Youth Chinese Test is an international standardized test of Mandarin proficiency, which assesses the ability of primary and secondary school students whose mother tongue is not Chinese. It is designed for both elementary and middle school students taking the language as an elective course or for people taking the YCT exams.
Each lesson is accompanied by a sample YCT test. The students must be able to pass the corresponding level of YCT after finishing each book.
The series is based first on functionality and then on grammar. That is, listening and speaking first, followed by reading and writing. The first 4 books do not have any requirements on writing Chinese characters. The books have a built-in combination of function and fun. The series tries to foster an interest in the students through games, stories and songs, and thus enjoy while learning.
